  • Previously, students who opted for Basic Mathematics in Class 10 were not allowed to pursue Mathematics subjects in Class 11.
  • Instead, they were offered the choice to study Applied Mathematics as an alternative to Standard Mathematics.

  • Students who were assigned Mathematics (Basic) (241) in Class 10 can now opt for Mathematics (041) in Class 11.
  • Additionally, Applied Mathematics is also offered as an alternative, with a focus on students’ aptitude and capability.

  • COVID-19 Pandemic Exception:
    • Earlier, CBSE allowed students who studied Mathematics (Basic) in Class 10 to offer Mathematics (041) in Class 11 and 12 due to the pandemic.
