Age & Qualification as per the Vacant Posts
1. Female Staff Nurse
Age Limit: Up to 35 years.
Educational qualification:
- B.Sc Honours Nursing;
- OR Regular B.Sc Nursing;
- OR Post Basic B.Sc Nursing;
- Must be registered as Nurse or Midwife with any State Nursing Council.
- Must have at least half a year of experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds. Also, must have skills in Hindi or regional language and English.
Exam: 120 marks exam. Time: 2.5 hours.
2. Assistant section officer
Age Limit: 23 to 33 years.
Educational qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three years experience in the administrative and financial field of Central Government.
Exam: 120 marks. Time: 2.5 hours.
3. Audit Assistant
Age Limit: 18 to 30 years.
Educational qualification:
- Graduation pass and three years work experience in Government or any other Institution.
Exam: 130 marks. Time: 2.5 hours.
4. Junior Translation Officer
Age Limit: Up to 32 years.
Educational qualification:
- Master’s degree must be in Hindi and Graduation in English language subject or medium or vice versa.
- OR Master’s degree (except Hindi/English) and Graduation with Hindi medium and English compulsory/optional or either one compulsory and any other optional.
- Diploma Certificate from Hindi to English or reverse translation or 2 years experience in this subject.
Exam: 100 marks. Time: 2 hours.
Age Limit: Between 23 to 35 years.
5. Legal Assistant
Age Limit: Between 23 to 35 years.
Educational qualification:
- Must have a degree in law and three years experience in legal matters.
- Apart from this, one must have knowledge of computer and Hindi-English language.
Exam: 150 marks. Time: 3 hours.
6. Stenographer
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years.
Educational qualification:
- Must be 12th passed.
- Skill Test: Dictation – 10 min @wpm, Transcription – 50 mts (English) 65 mts (Hindi).
Exam: 100 marks. Time: 2 hours.
7. Computer Operation
Age Limit: 18 to 30 Years.
Educational qualification:
- BCA / B.SC (Computer Science / IT).
- OR BE/B.Tech (Computer Science/IT).
Exam: 130 marks. Time: 2.5 hours.
8. Catering Supervisor
Age Limit: Up to 35 years.
Educational qualification:
- Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management. Ten Years Trade Proficiency Certificate on Catering.

Exam Syllabus
Different exam syllabus is prescribed for each post. Read the NVS notification to know the syllabus of the exams.
Selection Process
All the candidates will be selected through online exam. Only for legal assistants the exam will be followed by interview. Candidates who have skill test/typing test will have to give those exams.
Application Fee
- Female Staff Nurse – Rs.1500 (application and processing fee).
- For all other posts (Gen, EWS, OBC) – Rs.1000.
- For SC/ST/PwBD – Rs 500.
Process to Apply
- To apply, first you have to go to the NVS website www.navodaya.gov.in. There you have to click on recruitment to apply online.
- Then if it is the first time, you will have to register by giving your name, email, phone number.
- Then you will have to fill the NVS form by logging in with your ID.
- After giving your name, address, identity card etc., you will have to upload your photo, signature and submit it.
- Then the application fee has to be deposited. Debit card / credit card / net banking / e-challan / UPI can be used to deposit the application fee.
- After finally submitting your application form, download and save a copy.
