Eligibility Criteria for UPSC IES & ISS Recruitment 2024
Following are the eligibility criteria required to get a job in these vacancies:
Education Qualification
Indian economic service: Post graduate degree in Economics / Applied Economics/Business Economics / Econometrics
Indian Statistical service: Bachelor’s degree with Statistics / Mathematical statistics / Applied statistics as a subject OR Master’s degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics / Applied statistics
Age Limit
Candidates should be between 21 to 30 years of age. (as on 1st August 2024) i.e. the age of the candidate will be between 2nd August 1994 to 1st August 2003.
For reserved categories there is age relaxation as per government rules.
Other Information
Each candidate can apply for only one of the two services.

Exam Syllabus & Pattern in UPSC IES & ISS Recruitment 2024
Exam pattern
Every candidate has to give written exam first. Interview/Personality test will be based on its results.
Written exam will be of 1000 marks. Interview will be of 200 marks. Read the notification carefully to know the detailed subject and timing of the exam.
Application Fee for UPSC IES & ISS Recruitment 2024
Application fee for all candidates (except Female, SC, ST, PwBD) is Rs.200. Remaining candidates will not need any application fee. Application fee can be paid online through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI etc. Besides, it can be deposited in SBI Bank branches through offline mode.
Steps to Apply for UPSC IES & ISS Recruitment 2024
- To apply, candidates must first go to UPSC website www.upsconline.nic.in and do One Time Registration (OTR). After registration the exam application form has to be filled. Those who have already done OTR will fill the application directly.
- Go to the main application and fill the important information correctly including name, guardian, date of birth, photo ID, educational qualification certificate.
- After that you have to upload your new photo, signature. (between 20kb – 300 kb)
- Then every candidate has to deposit the application fee of Rs.200 as specified by the commission. Application fee can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, Net Banking, Visa etc. Application fee can also be deposited in cash at sbi bank branches offline.
- Then submit all your information and download a copy as proof.
